Kneecapping what was the strongest economy in the world inherited by the present administration with tariffs that are nearly universally considered absurd by business leaders and economists lays the groundwork for a self inflicted recession based on delusional thoughts and vendetta driven actions- despite the overwhelming uncertainty and increasing discomfort with how policy is being implemented.
Is there waste? Of course. Would the American people like to see the government run more efficiently? Yes. But gutting the workforce without oversight is not the way to do it and extreme unpredictability is no way to run anything, least of all the formally Untied States of America. The back and forth on policies policies weakens consumer, corporate and the world’s confidence.
My wife’s 401k lost $1,000 in the last 2 weeks. A retired friend who was heavy in the market told me he may have to go back to work because he’s down by nearly 1/2 in 2 months. If he sells he loses but riding it out may not be possible.
He’s already worked 50+ years.
Will the banks fail or is the FDIC going to be eliminated? How will the
threatened cuts to Medicare and Social Security affect us is not the way to spend your golden years, let alone any moment, for any American.
Why do we even have to ask this?
They call them “entitlements” which they’re not since we pay into them our entire working lives, but as for entitlement, who behaves more entitled than Trump and Musk?
Pushing every boundary the richest man in the world and the president of the United States are seeing to it that the poor get poorer and sick sicker throughout the world while raping the constitution in a fuck it first and apologize later frame of mind.
Their savior faire attitude has led people to demonstrate outside Tesla dealerships. The response from the First Felon in Chief? Make it a form of domestic terrorism promising anyone that has the temerity to engage in 1st amendment protected protest that he’ll make sure “they’ll go through hell.” With Teslas lined up outside the White House, Trump literally shilled for Elon in an ad hoc commercial turning the Rose Garden into a car showroom.

Come on down to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and let me put you in a new
Swasticar
Musk called Senator Mark Kelley a traitor after he visited Ukraine last
week- a Navy Vet of 25 years who flew nearly 40 combat missions in the Gulf War before becoming an astronaut and now, senator. Kelly’s
response? “Traitor? Elon, if you don’t understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do… I don’t take the guy very seriously, but at the same time, I do worry about the damage he’s doing.”
Convicted felons and insurrectionists are pardoned while FBI agents and scientists are fired and regulatory agencies are dissolved. Asking business leaders to pay $1-5 million for a meeting at the White House is an obvious oligarchy-esque grift. Canada has no desire to become the 51st state, nor does Greenland.
Our allies look on in horror knowing we’re no longer dependable.
Rewriting the world order creates uncertainty both here and abroad while here at home there’s too little opposition to the dismantling of accepted norms.
And that’s the problem.
